Great set of screencasts – I’ve found them extremely helpful (but get on with churning out more chapters for the book, which is excellent! ).

I would just like to ask, what software did you use to produce the screencasts? I like the result much more than most, especially the little web-cam window-in-window of you talking, which produces a much more “connected to the presenter” feeling than just listening to a disembodied voice while watching a presentation/demo on-screen.

Keep up the great work – I can assure you it is much appreciated.

  5. Hi Jay, Excellent work! I’ve been watching your screencasts and have learned a lot from them.

I currently have a small issue regarding the border layout and was hoping you could recommend a viable solution.

I would like to use the south region as a footer for a web app. The footer will be used to display the copyright and legal info as we see in any website. By default the border layout will tie the south region to the bottom of the browser window so that it’s always visible. What I want to do is make the footer appear all the way at the bottom, so that if needed we’d need to scroll the whole page down to see it.

Instead of pasting the code here, I invite you to check this thread which illustrates the issue.

    Thank you,

  6. Hi Mike,

Thank you very much for the feedback on the screencasts. It’s nice to hear that me being on screen helps the viewing experience with them. :) I use screenflow, which has some simple editing available.

Thanks again, and please keep the feedback coming.
