Layouts are tools that Containers use to visually organize child items on the screen. Have you considered looking at Ext JS in action? It is well elaborated on there.

Is this like in swing you have a panel and a layout for this panel, or not, because sometime when I put a grid in a panel which has a layout he makes to not appear anything from all code, and firebug or safari developer doesn't complain about errors. Thanks for your tutorials, they are very good.
